MINNEAPOLIS STREET NAMED AFTER GEORGE FLOYD

A stretch of Chicago Avenue, between 37th and 38th Street, in Minneapolis will be named George Perry Floyd Juniorin his honor. It's the place where Floyd lost his life at the hands of police. The city council approved the street naming in his honor over the weekend. The intersection of Chicago Avenue and 38th Street has been barricaded and sectioned off since the public outcry seeking judicial action for the Memorial Day incident, but prompted this community action, since it has also served as a memorial spot for locals and loved ones (Star Tribune)

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL PLAYER SUSPENDED FOR WEARING HIJAB

Valor College Prep, a charter school in Nashville, was the subject of a backlash after a female freshman volleyball player wasn't allowed to play a match because she was wearing a hijab while in uniform. The National Federation of State High School Association's rule states that "hair devices made of soft material and no more than three inches wide may be worn in the hair or on the head." In addition to the rule, any player needed authorization from the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association to wear the hair piece. The school has since asked for an amendment to the rule to end its discriminatory action. (Tennessean

TODDLERS' PARENTS SUING TRUMP FOR POSTING EDITED VIRAL VIDEO

Remember the two toddlers from that viral video that shows white and Black children running towards one another with big smiles open arms? They’re back in the news after the parents of both children are suing President Trump and his campaign after they deceptively edited the video to fit a “racist baby” theme. The parents are suing Trump for using the video without permission and causing emotional distress. (TMZ)
