Young Thug's phone calls from his time behind bars have become a spectacle for his fans and critics after numerous recordings were leaked online. Now, the county jail where Thug was locked up for over two years has stopped accepting requests for the calls.

According to intel The Breakfast Club's Loren LoRosa revealed on Wednesday, September 11, the Cobb County Jail has officially banned requests for all open records pertaining to Young Thug. People have been obtaining video and audio recordings of Thug's jail calls through the Georgia Open Records Act, which allows people to request access to public records.

The first round of leaked jail calls occurred while Thug was locked up in 2024. A YouTube channel called Phone Calls From Prison posted the couple's entire video conversation while they visited each other on Christmas Day. You could see Thug and Mariah talk about their love for one another, the jewelry Thugger bought her, and more. During his recent interview with Big Bank, the "Money On Money" rapper said his team reached out to Cobb County officials and got them to block people from requesting the recordings.

When the first few jail calls came out, my team got in touch with the Cobb County people and stopped all of it, like shut down the whole system," Thug said. "Now you can't none of that s**t. So what that tell you? Somebody been had it. They got it back then, and they just waited to release them."

It's still not clear who exactly leaked the calls. Cobb County officials said they couldn't reveal the leaker's identity, however, they said they shut down the requests to ensure the safety of Thug and his family.
