February 16th is the 69th annual NBA All-Star Game, which will air at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.
The National Basketball Association recently announced that,
... Chicago Native Jennifer Hudson will perform a special tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and their seven friends that tragically passed away on Jan. 26."
The tribute performance will take place at the beginning of the game, before the announcement of the players.
Throughout the night there will be several other performances, many of which will be by Chicago natives. Rapper, Common will start off the night by sharing with fans what basketball means for the city of Chicago. Chaka Khan will be singing the U.S national anthem and Tenille Arts will be performing the Canadian national anthem.
At half-time, Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled and rapper, Quavo will give a performance for the all the fans that are bound to fill the United Center.
Many other celebrities are set to perform at the events leading up to Sunday's big game like the State Farm All Star and NBA Rising Stars.
The NBA has yet to release details on what will be included in the tribute performance other than that it will be performed by Jennifer Hudson.
