T.I. Says He Takes His Daughter To Gynecologist To Make Sure She's A Virgin

In case you were wondering, T.I. accompanies his daughter, Deyjah Harris, every year to her gynecological exam to ensure that she is still a virgin.

"I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact," the Rhythm + Flow star, 39, said during the "Ladies Like Us" podcast on Wednesday (November 6). "Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation [about sex], we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen."

When the podcast hosts Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham thought he was making a joke, the rapper went into greater detail about the annual visit. "So it’s this one time we go, I think this might have been after her 16th birthday," he said. "This is what we do… Usually, like the day after the [birthday] party, she’s enjoying her gifts. I put a sticky note on the door: 'Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30.' So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism. He's like, ‘Well, you know sir, I have to, in order to share information’ — I’m like, ‘Deyjah, they want you to sign this… so we can share information. Is there anything you would not want me to know?’ ‘See doc? No problem.’

T.I. recalled the doctors explaining the many ways that "the hymen can be broken" like bike riding, athletics and horseback riding, but he wasn't having any of that. "So I say, ‘Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously,'" he admitted.

Meanwhile, over on Harris' Instagram account, many users have come to her defense, advising her to stand up against her father. "Consent works in all different situations. Your dad clearly doesn’t understand what that means," one user wrote. "Your body is your business, not his. This is not normal behaviour and I don’t want you thinking one day when a partner treats you this way that it’s normal because it isn’t."
